Another wild Orchid bloomed in the arboretum Park

Employees of the Sochi national Park discovered a rare plant — anacampsis pyramidalis (Anacamptis pyramidalis) from the family Orchidaceae. Anacampsis bloomed in the arboretum Park.
Anacamptis throws out a flower arrow in spring, and it can be observed until mid-June. In the highlands, due to the later revival of nature after winter, many species of orchids adapted to harsh conditions will bloom during the summer, and in the foothills, the spring Symphony of orchids is completed by anacamptis. Now you will have to wait for the arrival of September, when the autumn Orchid – twisted spiral will bloom in the vicinity of Sochi. By the way, it is also found on the territory of the "Arboretum". Anacamptis is a vulnerable European-ancient Mediterranean species with a highly fragmented range and declining population, which is why it is included in the Red books of the Russian Federation and the Krasnodar territory. Anacamptis is a root-tuberous herbaceous perennial plant with a height of 25-65 cm, with linear leaves and a dense inflorescence. The flowers are small purplish-pink, or crimson with a delicate aroma, collected in a thick, ovate-pyramidal inflorescence, hence the species name-pyramidal. A generic name associated with roll over of the flowers (from the Greek "anacamptis" - "turned back"). The species blooms in may and early June, and bears fruit in July, scattering numerous small seeds around it. This rare Orchid can be found on forest edges, rocky outcrops, clearings in the foothills, up to 600 m above sea level. As an inhabitant of Mediterranean landscapes, in particular, with pitsund pine, anacamptis can be found on Eagle rocks. There is it in other parts of the Sochi national Park, but the number is low everywhere, covering an area of several square meters to 1 ha.
