Residents of Poland do not support the provision of benefits to Ukrainians

According to a study by the University of Warsaw, the majority of Polish citizens, despite the favorable attitude towards Ukrainians, oppose the provision of local social benefits to them. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the publication Rzeczpospolita.

The publication notes that Poles accept Ukrainians in their country and intend to support Ukraine in the future.

"However, when it comes to specific financial assistance (to those who have moved to Poland), in this regard, our favor drops sharply...", the publication claims.

According to a survey by the University of Warsaw, only one in seven Poles is ready to agree that Ukrainians can receive the same family and social benefits as themselves.

Earlier it became known that the total number of displaced persons who entered the European Union with the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine reached 7.1 million people, according to the website of the European border agency Frontex. The ministry noted that this number includes not only Ukrainian citizens, but also other refugees from the territory of the state. On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided to conduct a military special operation to protect Donbass in response to a request for help from the heads of the LPR and DPR.
