For six months, the staff of the Museum of fine arts of the Republic of Karelia worked on the publication of a new album "Fine art of Karelia", which contains selected works from the collection of Karelian art.
The album is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Karelia and the 60th anniversary of the Museum of fine arts of the Republic of Karelia.
The collection of the Museum of fine arts has more than 16 thousand items. Of course, the pride of the Museum is the collection of Karelian fine art, which is the subject of deep scientific study, constantly updated and widely exhibited at domestic and foreign exhibitions.
The new album includes selected works by Karelian artists of several generations. These are the works of S. Yuntunen, G. Stronk, L. Lankinen, E. Pehova, V. Chekmasov, B. Pomortsev, T. yuf and many other talented Karelian authors. Conceptually, the album is completed with works dedicated to the Karelo-Finnish epic "Kalevala", a cultural brand of Karelia. Therefore, the album will not only introduce readers to the rich world of Karelian fine art, but also give an opportunity to feel the atmosphere of the legendary Kalevala, to see how different artists perceived and depicted the subjects and characters of the famous epic
