Silent transport: electric buses carried the first million passengers

Every day about 20 thousand people use buses on electric traction. Now electric buses operate on five routes.

Since the launch, electric buses have already transported one million passengers. Innovative transport was launched in Moscow in September last year.

"Today, more than 40 electric buses run in the capital. They follow five routes in the northeast and East of the city. Every day about 20 thousand people use electric buses", — said the Deputy Mayor of Moscow, head of the Department of transport and development of road transport infrastructure Maxim Liksutov. From September buses that run on electricity operate on route 73 and go from ENEA to 6 th district of Bibirevo. Since December, they run from the 6th district of Bibirev to Ostashkovskaya street (route 80), from Kholmogorskaya street to the metro station "VDNH" (route 76) and from the Clear passage to Ostashkovskaya street (route 649).

In January, electric bus launched on route 83: they go from the streets of Ussuri in Khabarovsk, Schelkovskoe highway and continue on the Big Cherkizovsky street to the metro station "Preobrazhenskaya Ploschad".

The new mode of transport is produced by two Russian enterprises, each of which will supply 100 electric buses by the end of March 2019. 31 charging stations from each supplier have already been installed, the connection to the energy infrastructure continues. According to the contracts, the manufacturers will be responsible for the full functionality of electric buses and charging infrastructure for 15 years.

Low-floor electric bus with a capacity of 85 passengers, provided for 30 seats. In transport there are ramps for people with limited mobility, climate control and satellite navigation, USB-connectors for charging mobile devices, information media screens. Passengers can use free Wi-Fi.

The electric bus moves almost silently. You need to charge it with the pantograph on ultra-fast charging stations, which are located at the final stops.
