Neil Ushakov removed from the post of mayor of Riga

The head of the Ministry of regional development of Latvia Juris puce signed an order to send the mayor of Riga nil Ushakov to resign.

The relevant information was published on 5 April in the government Gazette. According to the provisions of the document signed by puce, Ushakov is released from the duties and powers of the head of the Riga city Council due to non-performance of obligations and recorded violations of regulations.

Earlier, the Latvian Minister of regional development said that the decision regarding Neil Ushakov will be made on the basis of the results of verification of his answers regarding the work of the government and the municipal organization Rigas satitksme. It is also known that the head of Riga considers his resignation illegal and intends to go to court.
