India and China want to peacefully solve the problems of disputed territories

After a meeting between representatives of the military command of India and China over territorial disputes in the border areas of the two countries, a statement appeared on the website of the Indian foreign Ministry on June 7 that "both sides agreed to peacefully resolve the situation in the border areas in accordance with bilateral agreements, adhering to the agreement between the leaders of the two countries that peace and calm in the Indian-Chinese border areas are essential for the overall development of bilateral relations."
To achieve this, the parties will continue to discuss the current situation at both the military and diplomatic levels. The meeting took place in the locality of Moldo, located on the Chinese side of the "line of actual control" (LAC), which, although not officially recognized, is the de facto border between India and the PRC in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Tensions in the disputed areas of the Union territory of Ladakh escalated in early may. Then there were several hand-to-hand skirmishes between Chinese and Indian soldiers. In total, about 250 people participated in them, and over a hundred people were injured on both sides. Next, China and India began to increase their military presence in the region. North Korea has moved about five thousand troops and military equipment there. The Indian side also sent four additional battalions. The standoff is the result of a territorial dispute between new Delhi and Beijing that began in 1962 after the Indo-Chinese border conflict. Currently, China claims a number of Indian territories, and India believes that Beijing illegally holds more than 43 thousand square kilometers in Jammu and Kashmir.
