The avalanches due to the collapse of the edge of the crater recorded on September erupting Kliuchevskoi volcano in Kamchatka, the press service of the Institute of Volcanology and seismology Feb RAS.

""There was a collapse of the edge of the crater and several avalanches descended along the Apakhonchichi trench. In 10-15 minutes, the avalanche front descended to an altitude of about 3,000 m above sea level, " the report says.

The regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations has no information about the dead or injured as a result of avalanches.

According to the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, the active phase of the eruption of the volcano lasts almost five months. Before that, it was active from November 2019 to July 2020. The height of Klyuchevsky is 4.8 thousand meters - it is the highest active volcano in Eurasia. It is located 30 km from the village of Klyuchi, Ust-Kamchatsky district, and 360 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The age of the volcano is 7 thousand years.
